Terms of Use
Preview version, in effect from 14 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and Synexiom Labs Inc. ("we"), a company based on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, for using Ekami (ekami.ai) during its invite-only preview. They are short on purpose. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and is part of these terms.
1. Who can use Ekami
- You must be an adult where you live: 18 or over, or 19 where that is the age of majority.
- During the preview, Ekami is for people living in Canada, by invitation only.
- One account per person. Keep your email secure: anyone who can open it can sign in as you.
2. What Ekami is
Ekami is a personal AI to think things through with. It talks with you by text, remembers what you share, and after each conversation notes what it has learned about you. It tries to be honest with you, including when that isn't what you want to hear.
3. What Ekami is not
- Ekami is an AI, not a person. In long conversations it reminds you of this.
- Ekami is not a therapist and does not provide therapy, counselling or mental-health treatment.
- Ekami does not give medical, legal or financial advice. It can help you think, but decisions about your health, legal matters or money should involve a qualified professional.
- Ekami is not an emergency or crisis service. No person watches conversations as they happen.
If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call 911 now, or call or text 9-8-8 (the Suicide Crisis Helpline) any time. Ekami shows crisis lines when it notices signs of crisis, but it can miss them.
4. Ekami can be wrong
AI makes mistakes. Ekami can misunderstand you, remember something wrongly, or draw the wrong conclusion about you; you can correct or delete what it has learned at any time. When it checks facts on the web, sources can be wrong or out of date. Check anything important yourself, and use your own judgment: you are responsible for your decisions.
5. Using Ekami well
Please don't use Ekami to:
- break the law, or plan or promote harm to others;
- harass, threaten or exploit anyone;
- create content that sexually exploits children, under any circumstances;
- get around Ekami's safety measures, break into the service, or reach other people's data;
- overload, scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the service, or access it with automated tools;
- share your account, or build a competing product from Ekami's responses.
We may limit, pause or end an account that breaks these rules or puts people or the service at risk.
6. Your content
- What you write is yours, and so are the notes Ekami keeps about you.
- You let us store, process and send your content only to run Ekami for you: to reply, reflect, remember, keep you safe, fix problems and keep the service secure, including through the providers in our Privacy Policy. This ends when you delete the content or your account (backups clear within 30 days).
- We don't use your conversations to train AI models, and we don't read them except as our Privacy Policy describes.
- How Ekami works (its methods, prompts and models) belongs to Synexiom Labs.
7. Feedback
During the preview we ask how Ekami is doing, for example with an optional weekly rating. If you send us ideas, we may use them to improve Ekami without owing you anything. We will never quote your conversations without asking you.
8. The preview
- Ekami is free during the preview. There is a daily usage limit that ordinary use doesn't reach.
- The preview is for learning: features will change, and things may break.
- We may end the preview or Ekami itself. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a chance to download your data, unless we can't for legal or safety reasons.
- We plan to offer a paid subscription later. We will tell you in advance and ask you to agree before we ever charge you anything.
9. Leaving
- You can leave any time. You can download your data, then delete your account and everything in it, in the app.
- We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect you, other people or the service. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and let you download your data first.
10. No guarantees
Ekami is a free preview provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, accurate, or right for any particular purpose. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.
11. Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on conversations with Ekami. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you have a problem, please write to us first at evolve@synexiomlabs.com; we will try to fix it.
13. Changes
We will update these terms as Ekami changes. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect and ask you to agree again. If you don't agree, you can download your data and delete your account.
14. Other things
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given it up. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Ekami.
